Official Work Week begins!
Talk about a stiff learning curve! Fortunately, the mission team includes many with extensive contract work experience, and one (Gene's dad) who is an actual contractor. They were extremely gracious in helping the rest of us acclimated with the various tools and methodologies. Pastor Daniel brokes us into following groups:
1. annex home: mainly married men
2. men's restroom: phileo men and me :)
3. outside concrete slab restoration: youth
4. electric/fixture work: phileo women
5. meals: mainly married women
6. children: mainly married women
7. roof work: Gene's dad and few men
It was a beautiful sunny day....which isn't exactly the most ideal weather to work outside, especially the roof work. Actually, Gene's dad decided to hold off on the roof work until Tuesday morning, which allowed him to float from station to station to help all of us out.
By evening, all stations reported a significant workload accomplished, to the point we're talking about maybe shortening the trip as the leaders anticipate the assigned works to be finished before Friday. We'll see.
We are all pretty much exhausted from today's work, but was definitely worth it seeing the current occupants and Pastor Don's genuine appreciativeness, and listening to the testimonies.
Time to go to sleep! Gene, who is in charge of men's restroom, has a big plan for me. I need to remind him I'm a decade older than him... :)
