There was a baby shower for one of my wife's friend. She took all 4 kids to the shower and dropped me off at Pearlridge Shopping Center. There, I went to see a movie (yup...again), and for the first time in several years, bought a ticket for an (gasp!) R rated feature.
Which one?....Miami Vice! As a teenager growing up in the 80's, Miami Vice was an absolute favorite of mine, with the cool cars, no-sock shoes, t-shirts, and bright sports jackets. This movie, however, contains none of the 80's cheese factor. In a typical Michael Mann fashion (Collateral, Insider, etc.) it's a dark, urban crime/cop drama. I was entertained for few hours waiting for the shower to be over watching the flick. I was one of 2 people in the cinema for about 5 minutes into the film when a whole bunch of people came in...and even though the theater was virtually empty, they HAD to sit next to me. Can't blame them, with my irresistible charm...ha ha...actually, they probably wanted the prime seats (middle-center) but still...seemed a bit weird that they would do that. I almost moved over, but I didn't want to cause a scene..
2 more days and we're coming home. We'll hit the beaches few more times, then (sigh...) back to reality.
